Input into research on the impact of municipal investing
Professor Mark Davis and Dr Emma Hyde, both at the University of Leeds, are leading a project titled '‘The Pound to the Ground’, funded by the ESRC: Economic and Social Research Council. The project aims to evaluate the non-financial benefits of Community Municipal Investments (CMIs). They are already interviewing councils about the model, and also want to understand investors' views on the broader impact of municipal investments. The topics covered include your motivation for investing in councils, and whether the experience has had an impact on how you feel about, and engage with, local government. If you take part, your responses will be passed to the University of Leeds to be used as part of their research project.
Help York University engage people on energy efficiency
Abundance Investment is also working with York University and York Community Energy to recruit and train a number of Home Upgrade Community Champions. This work is funded by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and provides support and funded training for individuals who want to help people in their local area find ways to make their homes greener and more energy efficient.
We are offering investors in our Community Municipal Investments the opportunity to get involved, either by helping the with the research into the idea or by getting involved directly to find out more about what it means to be a Home Upgrade Champion - including details of the £2,000 training package available to those who volunteer.
